ABSORBICA®-Y - Petzl energy absorber - l012aa

Petzl ABSORBICA®-Y is a double lanyard with compact energy absorber, designed for progression on a vertical structure or a horizontal lifeline, and for passing intermediate anchors. It functions with users weighing between 50 and 140 kg. It has several installation options on the harness and can be used with different types of connectors. It is available in two lengths: 80 or 150 cm versions (without connectors). The 150 cm version has elasticized arms to avoid hindering progression. Depending on the connectors used, ABSORBICA®-Y is certified to American, European, and Russian standards.

Energy Absorption Features

• Efficient Fall Protection: The energy absorber limits the impact force on the user in the event of a fall through the controlled tearing of webbing, suitable for users weighing between 50 and 140 kg. Progressive tearing helps to reduce deceleration for lighter users.
• Compact Design: Features a compact build to minimize bulk, enhancing ease of handling. The FLEX version includes 150 cm of elasticized webbing, designed to prevent hindrance during movement.
• Protective Housing: Encased in a durable fabric pouch with an opening system at each end, the absorber is protected from abrasion and contaminants while remaining accessible for regular inspections.

Installation and Connection Options

• Versatile Installation: Offers two installation options on the harness to suit different operational needs:
  • Frequent Connection/Disconnection: Accommodates a carabiner, held in the correct position by the STRING positioning accessory included with the lanyard.
  • Semi-permanent Connection: Can be attached using a RING OPEN gated ring for optimal positioning or a SWIVEL OPEN to prevent tangling.
• Connector Choices: Provides options for either carabiners or large-opening MGO OPEN connectors at the end of the lanyard, facilitating secure and flexible attachments.
