The Petzl ABSORBICA®-I is a single lanyard with compact energy absorber, designed for progression on a horizontal lifeline (rope or cable) or on an elevated platform, without passing intermediate anchors. It functions with users weighing between 50 and 140 kg. It has several installation options on the harness and can be used with different types of connectors. It is available in two lengths: 80 or 150 cm versions (without connectors). The 150 cm version has an elasticized arm to avoid hindering progression. Depending on the connectors used, ABSORBICA®-I is certified to American, European, and Russian standards.

• Compact and Flexible: Designed for minimal bulk, the compact energy absorber facilitates easy handling. The FLEX version includes 150 cm of elasticized webbing, which prevents hindrance to progression, enhancing user comfort and efficiency.

• Protection and Inspection: Encased in a durable fabric pouch with opening systems at both ends, the absorber is protected from abrasion and contaminants. This design also allows for regular inspection to ensure ongoing reliability and safety.

Installation and Connectivity

• Flexible Installation Options: Offers two installation options on the harness to accommodate varying operational needs:
  • Frequent Connection/Disconnection: Can be connected using a carabiner held in the correct position by the STRING positioning accessory, included with the lanyard, for easy and secure attachment.
  • Semi-permanent Connection: Alternatively, it can be secured using a RING OPEN gated ring, whose circular shape ensures optimal positioning on the harness.
• Connector Options: Ends of the lanyard can be fitted with either a locking carabiner or an MGO OPEN connector with a large gate opening, providing secure and versatile attachment options to suit different environments and requirements.
