Petzl ABSORBICA®-I VARIO is an adjustable single lanyard with compact energy absorber designed for progression on a horizontal lifeline (rope or cable) or on an elevated platform, without passing intermediate anchors. It functions with users weighing between 50 and 140 kg. It features the VARIO adjustment system, allowing the lanyard length to be adjusted in order to reduce potential fall height. Depending on the connectors used, ABSORBICA®-I VARIO is certified to American, European, and Russian standards.

• VARIO Adjustment System: Allows the lanyard length to be adjusted from 100 to 150 cm, enabling users to minimize potential fall heights and adapt to different working conditions.
• Energy Absorption: The lanyard's energy absorber webbing tears upon impact to limit the force on users, supporting individuals weighing between 50 and 140 kg. Progressive tearing helps mitigate deceleration for lighter users, enhancing protection across a broad weight range.
• Compact Design: The energy absorber's compact build facilitates easy handling, reducing bulk and not hindering the user's mobility during tasks.

Protection and Durability

• Durable Fabric Pouch: The energy absorber is housed in a durable fabric pouch with openings at each end, protecting it from abrasion and contaminants while allowing for regular inspection to ensure its integrity and functionality.

Flexible Installation Options

• Installation on the Harness: The lanyard offers two installation options based on user preference and task requirements:
  • Frequent Connection/Disconnection: Equipped with a carabiner held in correct position by the STRING positioning accessory, allowing for quick and secure attachment and detachment.
  • Semi-permanent Connection: Can be attached using a RING OPEN gated ring, whose circular shape ensures optimal positioning, enhancing user safety and comfort.

Connector Options

• End Connectors: Available with two types of connectors at the end of the lanyard—a locking carabiner or an MGO OPEN connector with a large gate opening, providing secure and versatile attachment options.
