Yesterday, we were presented with the new Tectum and Tectum Air helmets from Edelrid for the first time. These helmets, which were already announced during our August interview with Vitus Wuhrer, CEO of Edelrid, look fantastic at first glance.
The difference between the Tectum and the Tectum Air, as the name suggests, is that the Tectum Air features ventilation openings on both sides. These openings can be closed with a sliding mechanism if desired.
Both the Tectum and the Tectum Air helmets will be available in five colors: black, white, red, yellow, and HiVis (high visibility). Additionally, the helmets are equipped with Euroslots, allowing the use of any accessories that comply with this standard (with or without an adapter). Examples include 3M hearing protection products and Petzl headlamps.
Edelrid itself also offers a wide range of accessories. These include a clear visor, a sun visor, a clear full-face visor, and a visor with a mesh screen. For the standard visor, a visor protector is also available to shield the visor when it is flipped up.
Edelrid also supplies its own hearing protection earmuffs, a neck protector, a small visor, and various replacement parts to extend the helmet’s lifespan, making it more sustainable.
The helmet is available in one size and can be adjusted to fit using a dial at the back.
The helmets will be available starting mid-March and can already be pre-ordered.
